Antes de falarmos da Diana Antunes, queria só voltar a relembrar e saudar o muralista Gonçalo Jordão, de quem falámos há uns tempos, por fazer parte da equipa que recebeu há duas semanas o Óscar para a Melhor Direcção Artística do “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, mais uma maravilha do Wes Anderson.
A Diana Antunes não é o que chamaríamos um household name (lá está ela com os estrangeirismos) no que toca à produção videográfica nacional (se nos tivermos de lembrar sairão mais rapidamente nomes como o de André Tentúgal ou Tiago Pereira), mas está a agregar um currículo bem interessante e vanguardista sobretudo por terras inglesas.
Formada na Universidade Lusófona, Antunes trabalha como freelancer em tudo o que precisar de ser filmado com precisão inovadora. Por exemplo, no ano passado vi um vídeo muito bom e trabalhoso feito em Portugal para um tema dos Les Crazy Coconuts chamado ‘Belong’ (lá para baixo), que só agora a fazer a recolha para esta rubrica é que me apercebi que foi realizado e editado pela Diana Antunes.
Dando um salto à conta de Vimeo dela, podemos ver campanhas para a Sahoco, ao lado de promos para uma curta realizada por Dean Chalkley e um teaser editado por Antunes para a revista The New British. Tem mesmo sido com Chalkley a sua parceria mais produtiva. O inglês já apontou a objectiva (quase sempre em forma de retrato a preto e branco) a malta como Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Tricky, Damon Albarn, enfim, quem é quem na música britânica (em 2011 começou a trabalhar como fotógrafo do New Musical Express). Antunes tem-no acompanhado para registar em vídeo o seu trabalho.
Também saiu recentemente uma lista (publicada pelo Huffington Post) dos ‘Instagrammers’ mais criativos e aparecem nela quatro portugueses e um brasileiro residente cá, a saber, Luís Octávio Costa, Teresa Freitas, Daniel Cerejo, Wandson Lisboa e Manuel Pita.
