Entre o verão e o outono desse ano, pessoas (vivos e mortos), bens, plantas e animais foram mudados para um novo aldeamento, criado de raiz, a cerca de 3km da velha povoação. No mês de setembro foi feita a última festa dedicada à padroeira na antiga Luz e realizou-se a abertura do ano lectivo na escola da nova aldeia. A antiga Luz foi demolida entre março e setembro de 2003, antes de o lugar ser coberto pela água da albufeira.” (Museu da Luz)

As Ti Marias e os Ti Manéis não estão nas soleiras das portas. Os vasos das flores revelam que ali há vida. As plantas estão viçosas, regadas mas as pessoas… onde estão as gentes da Luz? Como estão elas? Como se sentem? O que sentem?
Parada na entrada do Museu, olho para o Alqueva na tentativa de encontrar o lugar da antiga aldeia. É um momento nostálgico e inevitável, este, o da procura do lugar de origem. Todos temos um lugar de origem. Uns permanecem nele até morrer, outros procuram novas paragens para viver. Todos temos um lugar de origem, seja ele a casa dos nossos pais, o pátio da escola onde brincávamos com os amigos de infância, a rua onde se jogava à bola ou ao elástico, a árvore que servia de forte ou porto de abrigo… lugares onde podemos regressar.
Os lugares de origem das gentes da Luz são agora referências, coisas imateriais que se sabem de memória e se perpetuam com a lembrança das histórias dos seus habitantes. Mesmo por opção própria, é difícil partir e deixar o lugar de origem. A perspectiva do regresso torna a viagem possível, mais leve. Ir e não mais se poder voltar parece-me uma viagem dura de suportar.
Saio do Museu e procuro um café na aldeia. Quero ver as pessoas da aldeia, quero olhar para elas! Ter a certeza de que sobreviveram à perda, à transformação radical das suas vidas! Quero sentir essa esperança! Entro no primeiro café e peço o meu café, uma água, sento-me ao balcão e fico ali um bom bocado. Olho para a televisão, oiço as conversas dos três homens que ali estão. Há pessoas na Luz e parecem-me bem. Bebem minis, comem pratos de enchidos, falam da vidinha, do futebol. Parecem-me bem… queria muito perguntar-lhes coisas… que me contassem histórias, que me fizessem ficar mais tempo por ali… Pago, deixo gorjeta e saio da Luz menos inquieta, mais tranquila.

Something we did find a bit annoying was the constant moaning and cheering of the animated girl, but it might just be a personal thing. The game has a max exposure of 3000x, which is not bad, so there is definitely some good potential.
